Our Story

Alpha Epsilon Pi – Phi Deuteron Chapter was first colonized on April 9th, 1949. It was the 3rd fraternity established on the Kent Campus and its first house was located at the foot of Campus on Lincoln St.

During the late 1960s and through the Vietnam War, Greek Life as a whole suffered with membership issues and by the early 1970s the Chapter became inactive due to the wave of unpopularity that Greek Organizations were experiencing.

In 1978, an interest was shown at restarting the Phi Deuteron Chapter and on January 20th, 1979, the chapter was reactivated and finally re-chartered on April 19th, 1979.

The Chapter made its new home on University Drive and remained there until the early 90s.

Between 1991 and 2000, the Phi Deuteron Chapter resided on E. School St; S. Depeyster St; E. Summit St; and residences on North and South Lincoln Streets.

In the fall of 2000, the Phi Delta Theta House at 323 E. College Street was purchased by the family of Alum, and the brothers of AEPi Phi Deuteron were housed in a lettered fraternity house after more than 20 years.

We currently still reside at the house on E. College Street, and with the exceptions of classes and Hillel, it is our main center of activities and events. For more information about us, or our Brotherhood, check out our other pages or write the webmaster with inquiries at aepikent@gmail.com.
